Dear Mr. Mehlman,
It has come to my attention that at least one
email has been sent from the Republican National Committee Headquarters
in Washington, D.C., addressed, using my email account address, as
though it had been sent by me. With the help of friends and associates
who are certified experts in Information Technology audit, security and
forensics it has been positively determined that this email came from
the RNC Headquarters and even which workstation at GOP Headquarters is
sending them.
My last contact with GOP Headquarters was a request for a refund of
contributions. I feel this action, sending emails using my account, is
retaliation against me for expressing my feelings of upset at the
voting records and other actions by elected Republicans. I must say
that abusing your constituents is not an appropriate or effective way
to win them back. Principled dialogue is the way to do that, not
attempts at discrediting people with amateurish attempts to "spoof
email" from them.
I request these actions to cease, disciplinary actions of the offending
person or persons
involved and full disclosure of this issue.
Below my signature line are the forensic details of one of the misuses
of my email account by someone at RNC Headquarters. I have bolded
the text that shows positively that email purporting to be from me
are being sent from RNC Headquarters and have commented in bold red to provide you with quick
reference to the information you need to track down those responsible.
I look forward to your response and meaningful efforts by the RNC and
GOP to win my respect back, which at this point has been shattered.
